Logistics Transportation Manager

Duration: 1yr., Contract, W2 only

Onsite in San Diego, CA

Pay: $35- $39 an hr

Responsibilities

  • Manage major business processes from factory export to North America, warehouses, and Direct shipments to customer DCs. Make business related decisions involving multiple factors that may be ambiguous in nature. Decisions on matters that have moderate to significant impact on business operations, financial results, and vendor relationships.
  • Manage and measure logistics processes including; on-time export from factory, transloading, ETA, OTD & OTRQ management, demurrage & detention, carrier activity, POD verification, damaged products claims and Return Authorization request.
  • Support the team in identifying deliveries with Over, Short or Damaged [OSD] notations on the POD and work closely with Task Force to come-up with decision and solution.
  • Dispute invoices with backup evidence and negotiate with carriers
  • Rates and 3PL management, KPI review, and performance analysis.
  • Maintain constant communication with supply chain planning and other logistics departments, including Sales team in advance solutions to issues for improvements. Both shipments to WHs and Direct shipments to customers DC.
  • Monthly forecast - analyze logistics environment such as rail and OTR, weather, carriers capacity, simulate and set monthly forecast target with Sales subsidiaries.
  • Yard management; manage Inbound and Outbound (loaded and emptied) containers movement to minimize aging.
  • Exercises judgment and makes decisions on business situations outside established procedures and approves exceptional cases
  • Resolves problems of moderate to large scope where analysis of data requires the identification of obscure or undefined factors and decisions have significant impact on business performance.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in supply chain management/Logistics, business or other related field
  • 8+ years of management experience
  • 5+ years' experience in Supply Chain
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Expertise with SAP (TMS, WMS, ERP),
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-look-ups, formulas, macros, etc.) and other Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
